Combat Fitness Athlete Don Vining Takes First Place In Strongman Show

What a great Show Tom Mitchell and his crew put on. Top notch athletes with hardcore events to compete in.

Don Vining, My client for the past 3 months competed in his first competition ever and almost had a clean sweep of first place(got 4 out of 5.) His incredible strength cardiovascular conditioning and athleticism is what propelled him to the top so very quickly.

The best part is, he was training with the style and equipment that i training military, police and firefighters with. That’s right, the same style strength and fitness training that can accel military members on their PFT’s can also help with strongman competitions.

Enough preaching, just watch the video

PS: This Wednesday night is when you can first get your hands on a copy of the Ebook “Maximize Your PT” Theres no charge or waiting for shipping, its instantly download-able. Buy it and start reading it on Wednesday night @ 9PM EST.

Times are tough, right?

So maybe a 40 dollar gym membership just isn’t in your budget? You’re better off without it!

Commercial gyms are a cesspool for failure and an encouragement for mediocrity. “Planet Fitness” for instance is a judgement free zone, yet i just saw this video

That seems like “judgement” to me. What they really mean to say is they accept the weak and deny the strong, AND IM NOT TALKING ABOUT PHYSICAL STRENGTH.

When I was 21 years old and 315lbs, I walked into a gym and accepted the fact that I was extremely obese and did something about it. Was it always fun working out next to incredibly good looking women and jacked dudes? Hell no, sometimes it was downright embarrassing. After some HARD WORK and DEDICATION though, I was no longer just a fatty in the gym, but one of those “jacked dudes” that people looked up to and asked questions.

If I had people to coddle me and tell me that I’m fine the way I am, maybe the motivation wouldn’t have been there to drive on and succeed.

WHAT YOU NEEED TO DO IS ANYTHING! Just do something….anything! I always tell people to use what you have. at minimum, you always have your bodyweight and believe me, that’s more than enough to get a workout (try doing 100 burpies for time and tell me your not broke off after that).

Here’s a video by my buddies over at www.usajunglegym.com. These guys epitomize the “use what you have” theory. Don’t have a barbell? Pullup bar? squat rack? Neither do these guys..

Every city has a park. If you live in the country, you have trees, rocks and other natural items. There’s no excuse to get strong and fit. Outdoor training is not only more effective, but also much more enjoyable. Get out and JUST DO SOMETHING!

The best teacher is always a student!

Ok so you come check out this blog 2 or 3 times a week, sometimes from different leads and reasons, but usually its to learn something new, right? (and maybe to see me rant on something I like or dislike)

But the real question is, where do I go everyday to continue MY education?

I’m glad you asked! Here is a step by step of my “bookmarks” that I visit almost daily

Not Motivated? Its gut check time!

With my new Ebook “Maximize Your PT” being released soon, its got me thinking about who will take the step and open their mind to unconventional training to further their strength training careers, as well as military fitness. Personally, I think the type of person who WILL take that step possesses two virtues that are as uncommon as my style of training…

Motivation and Discipline.

For all the Military Vets out there, you know that those are core values that the military DRILLS into you over and over, but for the rest of society commitment and dedication seem to be just words said when its convenient and thrown to the wayside when times get tough.

I’m gonna let my good friend Elliott Hulse of HulseStrength.com take over from here on this subject. Ive said for the past 2 years that I’ve known this extraordinary gentleman that he missed his calling as a preacher. Elliott, like me, is convicted in what he does and his passion is very transparent when he speaks.

so do you “FEEL LIKE” succeeding today?
