(In case you didn’t know, Lt Gen Jack Stultz is the commander of the US Army Reserve Command.)
Last week, I showed up for duty just like every month. But this month I saw something I thought I’d never see!
Soldiers flipping tires!
You see, even the army knows the benefit of heavy, unconventional strength training. This particular “confidence course” also included a HMMWV(Military spec Hummer) push and sandbag carries, pretty much exactly how I’ve been training my clients.
Although I should, I’m not going to pursue any compensation for my training information from the US Military(kidding). Its just great to see commanders and First Sergeants taking initiative to use different training methods to keep their soldiers combat ready, while actually enjoying the training.
I snapped a few pictures on my Blackberry in between teaching the soldiers the proper form of the tire flip. They thoroughly enjoyed this training and I’m confident you will as well.
Thank you to everyone who called up the show to listen in last night. I was a bit nervous but Nancy and Phyllis went easy on me and it ended up being a huge success.
Like I’ve said in the past, My main passion in life is helping people succeed in fitness and, hell life in general. I really love teaching and the money is just a bi-product of doing my life’s work. These radio shows are a great way to help people out, even when i cant be there physically.
Heres the link to Yourmiliarys Blogtalk radio site. It should start playing immediately. If not, push the “play” icon on the media player in the top right hand corner. I look forward to doing more with Nancy and Phyllis in the future. Thanks again for having me on the show.
This is something that has been in the works for a couple months now and im finally going live.
Tomorrow night at 6:30PM EST, ill be live on Yourmilitary.com’s radio show, talking about my unconventional strength and conditioning training and offering motivational advice for current/prior service military members, spouses, firefighters and police members.
Come support me by listening in on this free radio show. Its my first time live on air, so im sure the nerves will be in full effect.
Heres the link Your military radio show. Come see me and maybe even learn something that i haven’t said on the blog yet!
The book is almost done, the pictures are taken and I’m super excited about the launch. But on Wednesday, I found out my grandfather died.
With this news, I had two avenues in front of me. A) I could have just stopped what I was doing, locked myself inside my emotions and just fall into an unneeded depression, or B) I can suck it up, stay positive and deal with the emotional aspect of it through your loves and passions.
I chose B! and I also chose to share with the world what I do when I need to remain positive.
Friends, family and Iron. That’s the keys to my remedy.
Check out video about my experiences. If you are a military member , police or firefighter, adversity and tragedy is almost all too common, so properly dealing with it is vital to survival.
